Breast
Augmentation
(Augmentation
Mammaplasty)
Breast
augmentation is a very popular procedure for women and among the
most commonly performed cosmetic surgery procedures. A
saline-filled implant is inserted under the crease in the
breast, around the nipple or through the armpit. The
implant can be placed under the breast tissue or beneath the
chest wall muscle. After surgery, breasts will appear
"fuller" and more shapely in contour. Incision
scars will fade or disappear over time.
In certain
unique instances silicon implants can be used.

Breast implant is placed either: b) underneath
the chest wall muscle or c) directly behind the
breast tissue |

We
use advanced pain management techniques which can
greatly reduce and sometimes
eliminate the postoperative pain that can sometimes be
associated with
this surgery. Many of our patients do not need to use
any narcotic pain medications,
thus avoiding the potential side effects of those drugs,
and enjoying
a quicker and more pleasant recovery.
Lejour
Breast
Reduction
(Reduction
Mammaplasty)
Minimizing the
scars associated with breast reduction surgery has been a goal in
plastic surgery for years. The Lejour, or Vertical Reduction technique
significantly reduces the scars associated with breast reductions and
lifts. Breast reductions performed for women experiencing back and
shoulder pain from larger breasts are usually covered by insurance.
Breast lifts are performed to improve the appearance without removing
any breast tissue and are not covered by insurance. Traditionally, both
types of surgery left scars around the nipple, down the front of the
breast and below the breast. The Vertical Mammaplasty does away with the
scar below the breast. This avoids scars on the side or center of the
chest where they can be seen in a swim suit or low-cut clothing. It also
avoids the pain which may be associated with a heavy scar directly under
the bra.

Breast reduction (reduction mammaplasty) removes fat, glandular tissue,
and excessive skin, resulting in smaller, lighter and firmer breasts that
are better-shaped in proportion to the rest of the body.
Breast
Lift
(Mastopexy)
Over time,
the effects of gravity along with the loss of the skin's natural
elasticity begins to have a negative impact on the appearance of a
woman's breasts. These factors, combined with pregnancies
and nursing will often cause the breasts to lose their youthful
shape and firmness.
A
breastlift, or mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to raise and
reshape sagging breasts. The procedure can also reduce the
size of the areola (the darker skin surrounding the nipple).
Breast implants inserted in conjunction with a mastopexy
procedure can increase both firmness and size.
