Comparing Facial Plastic Surgery Procedures

Given that the face is the main focal point of every person, it’s no surprise that people of all ages and walks of life choose to undergo facial plastic surgery to address a number of issues. Some patients choose to correct a deformity they have had since birth or caused by injury, while others rejuvenate their appearance and reduce signs of aging. Whatever the procedure, a skilled plastic surgeon can ensure satisfying results that look natural and are long-lasting. The following are some of the most popular facial procedures.

A Look At Face Procedures

  • Facelift: A facelift can significantly rejuvenate sagging skin and creases in the mid-face, as well as loose skin and jowls. In some cases, patients who have had a facelift appear 10 to 15 years younger, looking naturally refreshed. This procedure can also be combined with other surgeries, such as the ones listed below, for more dramatic results.
  • Blepharoplasty: Blepharoplasty, commonly known as eyelid surgery, removes excess fat, skin and/or muscle from the lower or upper eyelids to create a more youthful appearance. This procedure is ideal for patients who want to rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes.
  • Necklift: Similar to a facelift, a necklift uses the same techniques to tighten skin on the neck and jowls. In some cases, fat is removed from under the chin for a slimmer profile.
  • Lip augmentation: There are a number of surgical a non-surgical options to augment the shape and size of the lips. Results can range from temporary to permanent, depending on the materials used. Injectable fillers such as Restylane®, Hylaform® are performed on an outpatient basis and plump the lips for several months. Lip implants are placed under general anesthesia for permanent results.
