While it’s no secret that plastic surgery can have an impact on your physical appearance, a recent study set out to determine if it can also have an effect on how people perceive your personality. Published in JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery, this study used 173 participants to rate images of 30 women, pre and post-plastic surgery, on factors like likability, femininity and attractiveness. Researchers found that women who underwent facial rejuvenation procedures were perceived to be more likable, attractive and feminine than those who hadn’t yet undergone surgery. Take a look at some of the most popular facial procedures that can help you appear more likable.
- Facelift. It’s no secret that the aging process can take a toll on our face, leaving us with lines, wrinkles, loose folds, fat deposits and more. The facelift procedure works to combat these signs of facial aging, restoring a more youthful and rejuvenated look to the face.
- Neck lift. While a full facelift targets the upper and lower face, many patients are only unhappy with their neck or lower face. For these patients, the neck lift procedure offers a unique and effective solution, designed to target problems like jowls, loose neck skin and deposits of fat under the chin.
- Blepharoplasty. Also known as eyelid surgery, blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to restore a youthful look to eyelids that have drooped or sagged over time. In addition to its cosmetic benefits, this procedure can help improve sight by moving eyelids out of a patient’s field of vision.
- BOTOX® Cosmetic. While it’s not a surgical procedure, BOTOX is one of the most effective tools in rejuvenating the face. Through a series of small injections, BOTOX relaxes the muscles in the face that cause wrinkles and lines, helping to restore a younger and smoother look.
